Jardin de los Niños hosts Champions for Children virtual gala

Posted

Jardin de los Niños – recently recognized as Bulletin’s Best favorite nonprofit – will hold a Champions for Children virtual gala on evening, Saturday, Feb. 27.

The fundraiser will support Jardin families “as we elevate them out of homelessness,” and it will be a celebration of Jardin’s children's birthdays, said Jardin CEO Michelle S. Adames, Ph.D.

The hour-long Zoom program “will pay homage to some of our children's favorite movies and children's classics … as it highlights individuals or groups who have “gone above and beyond to support their community during the pandemic.

"COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our community,” Adames said. “The goal of our gala is to support our families with their most basic needs, to bring cheer to the children and to honor champions who continue to rise up to support children and families in our community."

Jardin de los Niños was founded in the summer of 1994 by Sister Beth Daddio and Sister Anna Waldschmitt to provide care and education for children and their families struggling with homelessness.

Jardin moved in 2001 to the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope campus, 999 W. Amador Ave.

Champions for children has sponsorships available for $100, $500, $750, $1,500 and $2,500. To become a sponsor or make a donation of any size, visit the Jardin website at https://jardinlc.org/ or contact Adames at 575-522-2111 or michelle.adames@jardinlc.org.
