The radio show is called “Lo Mejor de Todo con Ruby Bada” (The Best of Ruby Bada” in English) and called “Ruby Bada Al Aire” (“On the Air”) on social media (Facebook, Instagram, You Tube and TickTok).
Whichever name you choose, it’s a popular Spanish-language program hosted by Las Cruces’ own Ruby Bada. It airs live, 6-10 a.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m.-noon on Sunday on La Equis (“La X”) 96.7 radio of Las Cruces. La Equis 96.7 is part of the Bravo Mic Communications LLC five-station network in Las Cruces, and is the city’s only Spanish-language station, Bada said. The show’s content is all local, she said.
On weekdays, from 8-9 a.m., Bada provides local news, including news about Las Cruces, the state and El Pao and Cuidad Juarez. Live interviews with a wide range of guests begin at 9 a.m.
Frequent topics include everything from Las Cruces Public Schools and tutoring on Zoom to self-help, immigration and the Zodiac. Mondays are always wide open to callers, she said, and health issues, including diet, exercise and brain function, along with COVID-19 updates, are often that day’s topics.
“We talk about positive things, good things,” Bada said. “I like the topics that help people.”
Bada frequently highlights local businesses and their products and services on her show, she said, and welcomes business owners and others in the community who would like to be on air with her.
Her daily programming also includes Mexican music, including Latin rhythms, salsa, merengue and more, Bada said.
In addition to 96.7 on the FM dial, you can find “Ruby Bada Al Aire” HD on Magic 104.9, Bada said. Choose channel two.
