Daily statistics
According to the Centers of Disease Control, www.cdc.gov, the national confirmed COVID-19 cases increased from 163,539 March 31, to 186,101 April 1. There have been 3,603 deaths.
In New Mexico, confirmed cases rose from 315 March 31 to 363 April 1 (with six deaths) and 21 cases in Doña Ana County.
In Texas, cases increased from 3,266 March 31 to 3,997 April 1, with 58 deaths. El Paso County has now confirmed 50 cases. Information from Mexico is more difficult to track, but Ciudad Juarez has confirmed at least seven. Nationwide, Mexico has so far reported 1,215 cases as of March 31, with 29 deaths, and the country is urging business closures and social distancing.
