According to the Centers of Disease Control, www.cdc.gov, the national confirmed COVID-19 cases increased from 68,440 March 26, to 85,356 March 27, now the most of any country in the world. There have been 1,246 deaths.
In New Mexico, confirmed cases rose from 112 March 25 to 136 March 26 (with one death) and 16 cases in Doña Ana County. The latest three cases in Doña Ana County were males in their 20s. In Texas, cases increased from 1,396 March 26 to 1,731 March 27, with 23 deaths. El Paso County has confirmed 21 cases. Information from Mexico is more difficult to track, but Ciudad Juarez has so far confirmed five cases, and the Juarez mayor has ordered a suspension of public events and gatherings and temporarily closed many businesses and services.

Congress passes $2 trillion economic stimulus
The Senate today approved a $2 trillion economic stimulus package to help businesses and individuals bridge the financial gap created by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The bill includes a minimum $1.5 billion support to each state, $9.5 billion in emergency aid for the agriculture industry and $1,200 to most individuals.
