THOMAS BRANIGAN MEMORIAL LIBRARY

Lend a hand: Mitten donation tree is up at Branigan Library through Dec. 17

Posted

The 2021 Mitten Tree is up at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., and ready to accept donations, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.
The library will accept the donation of new or clean, gently used hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and socks for children and adults through Friday, Dec. 17, the city said. New or clean, gently used jackets, coats, sweaters, blankets and new underwear also are gladly accepted.

The most requested items at shelters are socks and underwear. And don’t worry, the library will not be hanging any undies on the tree!
The library will donate the items to La Casa, Inc., the Gospel Rescue Mission and Mesilla Valley Community of Hope after the collection period ends.
To donate, bring items to the library and either give them to library staff or hang them on the Mitten Tree at the front of the library, near the circulation desk.
