Chapter AS of the P.E.O. Sisterhood announced three local scholarship winners in a May news release.

The recipients are Adelaide Olberding, a senior at Las Cruces High School (LCHS), who received the International STAR Scholarship; Hailey Himelright, also an LCHS senior, received the New Mexico State Delilah Williams I Scholarship; and Hannah Himelright, a sophomore at NMSU, received the NMSU Delilah Williams II Scholarship.

“All three of these young women, sponsored by Chapter AS, exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success,” the news release said.

P.E.O. is a Philanthropic Educational Organization that has been helping women reach for the stars for more than 150 years, with local chapters in both the United States and Canada. Providing more than $383 million in scholarships, grants and loans to women at all levels of their post-secondary education, P.E.O. has helped more than 116,000 women since the organization began its scholarship programs in 1907.
