Matthew John Kuchinka

Matthew John Kuchinka, age 96, son of the late Matthew and Mary (Luksa) Kuchinka left his earthly home on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, to be reunited with the love of his life, Goldine "Deane" Kuchinka (Addis), who preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 2005.

Matt was born and raised in Bellaire, Ohio, on Jan. 18, 1924, but he spent most of his adult life in California and New Mexico.

Matt served his country in the Marines during World War II and retired from San Diego Gas & Electric Company.

Matt enjoyed extensive foreign and domestic travel in retirement with many beloved family and friends worldwide and helping local Las Cruces people in need.

In addition to his parents and wife Deane, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Patricia, his sister, Mary Kovack, brothers-in-law, Ken Kovack and Mike Ryan, and sister-in-law, Judy Kuchinka. 

Matt is survived by daughter Pamela Rossi, granddaughters Cassandra, Jessica, Jasmine and Jaclyn, as well as a great-grandson and granddaughters,

Also left to cherish his memory are brothers Joseph (and wife, Lois) Kuchinka, Donald Kuchinka, John (and wife, Donna) Kuchinka and sisters Betty Ryan and Rose (and husband, Tom) Kopyar, in-laws, many nieces and nephews and their families.

Roman Catholic Rosary and Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, Las Cruces, N.M. Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at noon, via livestream at getzcares.com or https://www.facebook.com/getzfuneralhome, followed by onsite interment of ashes next to his beloved wife Deane. The life he lived is his memorial for family and friends who knew him and the adventurous life he lived.
