Miller seeks District 33 house seat

Posted

Beth Miller, a self-described “businesswoman with strong ties to her district” has announced her candidacy for the state house seat in district 33. Her announcement is as follows:

“I am committed to improving the quality of life for residents, and I vow to help make New Mexico a better place to live and to lift the state from its low national rankings in crime, poverty and education.

“My family has deep roots in Las Cruces, dating back 100 years, so I know the issues and understand the challenges of the its residents. My mission is to improve the lives of people in District 33.

“My district needs a fresh, common-sense voice, able to stand firm, yet able to reach across the table. Families, young and old, deserve safe streets, quality education and the best healthcare facilities. I will seek sound fiscal responsibility and oppose tax increases. We need to create a path of opportunity in Doña Ana County, attracting new businesses while supporting entrepreneurship and quality jobs.

“I will work for mutually beneficial solutions that respect the rich history and importance of farming and agriculture in our state. We must help promote, not hinder, our energy resources, such as oil and gas. I will fight hard to help put Doña Ana County back on the right path. It’s people over politics.

“I am pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro-Constitution, rooted deep in my faith and committed to my promises. In times such as these, I will be your voice for the things you believe in.”

Miller said she studied social psychology at NMSU, and her education helps her better understand the needs of her community and the concerns of its residents. She has served as an administrative assistant in the NMSU College of Agriculture and with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture.
