The Las Cruces Bulletin welcomes Susan Morée as its new managing editor.
Morée has more than 10 years of experience working for digital news outlets and print journalism. Most recently, she was senior reporter for New Mexico Political Report, covering corporate accountability and the environment. Prior, she covered reproductive healthcare and politics and the state legislature for five years for the digital news site based out of Albuquerque.
Morée said she is looking forward to returning to local news and her first love is southern New Mexico. She is excited to join the team at the Las Cruces Bulletin.
"Returning to covering local news is really my passion. We are a small team at the Las Cruces Bulletin but we strive to fill the gaps left by a shrinking news ecosystem. I'm excited to dive in and deliver local news to the residents of Las Cruces," she said.
Publisher Belinda Mills said she is excited to welcome Morée.
"We are very excited to welcome Susan to lead the newsroom at the Bulletin. She is a experienced journalist with a deep understanding of New Mexico," Mills said.
Morée has extensive experience covering the environment. She was an environmental reporter in southwest Montana for five years covering the cleanup of the largest Superfund complex in the U.S. for the Montana Standard. She got her start in journalism working for the Silver City Sun-News, which was a bureau of the Las Cruces Sun-News before its closure.
