Music and movement bags available for checkout

Posted

The Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is pleased to offer Music and Movement Bags for families available for check out on Tuesday, October 13.

In the Movement & Music Bag you will find a variety of rhythm instruments & props to use with your child as they build their growing set of skills. We’ve included two sets of each instrument so you can play together. Rhythm instruments reinforce body awareness, as you use and move different parts of the body. They also help to build spatial awareness as you move in various directions with both big and small moves. These kits can also be used during virtual library programs such as Rhythm Round-Up and Storytime. Happy music-making!

The bags will be available for check-out on a library card starting October 13th and can be kept for 3 weeks. The bags may also be placed on hold (just like books and DVDs) using your library card. Music and Movement bags will include a checklist for ensuring bag contents are accounted for and a pricelist for replacing elements of the kit.

For more information or to register for the program, contact the Children’s Department at (575) 528-4225 or library.reference@las-cruces.org.
