NMSU in top 100 for some programs

U.S. News & World Report ranked New Mexico State University in the top 100 colleges for nurse anesthesiology and social work. The nurse anesthesiology program tied for 80th and the social work program tied for 95th.

Other NMSU programs that ranked in the annual best of report include English, which tiled for 120th, speech-language pathology, which also tied for 120th, earth sciences, which came in at 124th, physics, which tied for 125th, mathematics at 125th, economics at 126th, computer science at 133rd, fine arts, which tied at 135th, chemistry, which came in at 136th and the part-time MBA program tied at 137th.

NMSU also earned graduate school rankings for best public affairs program (144 tied), best engineering school (145 tied), public health (168 tied), psychology (180 tied), biological sciences (203 tied) and best education schools (210 tied).  
 
The 2025 U.S. News & World Report’s edition of Best Graduate Schools features rankings of more than 7,000 degree-granting programs at over 1,100 universities. NMSU is one of more than 800 institutions with graduate schools that’s surveyed by U.S. News on an annual basis.
