NMSU opens golf course with modifications for safety

Posted

According to the NMSU Golf Course Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/NMSUGOLF), the course is available for play with some restrictions.
Practice Facilities and Aggie Range Club:
Club house practice greens are open for customers with tee-times. Customers wanting to practice can utilize the driving range practice green with social distancing requirements/restrictions in place.
Hours of operation. The driving range and practice greens will be open 3-7 p.m., with a range attendant on site to monitor social distancing and sanitizing touch points. We are bleaching range balls before they are put into the range machine and sanitizing each bucket after individual use. Due to social distancing requirements, there will be limited access to the practice facilities. Please respect the range attendant, and please follow posted guidelines while utilizing the practice facility.
Aggie Range Club. Members can start utilizing the practice facilities at the driving range (Aggie Land short game practice area is closed). Enjoy free golf the last two hours of the day (since May 16). We will not be charging anyone for the month of May, because we were closed eight days in March. If you wish to cancel your membership, you need to do so before June 1.
Retail and protective masks. The pro shop is now open at 25 percent capacity. You will need to wear a protective mask while inside the clubhouse and pro shop areas. Staff will continue to wear masks in the pro-shop and while checking in at the starter’s podium. You are not required to wear a mask while playing golf.
Pro shop. We are fully stocked and will be running some great specials for the next couple of months.
Food and beverage. The on course halfway house is open for to-go ordering for food and nonalcoholic beverages. We feel this is the best way to provide this service to our customers with a health-and-safety-first mindset for our customers and staff. We will continue to evaluate hours of operation to best serve our customers. We are working on getting our kitchen open for to-go ordering before and after your round of golf, and we will be creating specials, packaging food and golf.
Tee-Times and the Parking Lot. We have expanded our tee-time availability, and starting now offer sundown pricing 3-5 p.m. The weekday rate is $13 to walk and $20 to ride. Weekend pricing will be $16 to walk and $23 to ride. We have expanded our tee-time availability while still adhering to the requirement of no more than 144 players on the course at one-time. This will help with booking your tee-times.
Reminder: Please show up no more than 15 minutes before your tee-time and please promptly exit the facility when you finish your round. Customers cannot congregate in the parking lot.
