The New Mexico State University Journalism and Media Studies Department announced that student Noah Apodaca was selected for an internship with NBC Sports covering the summer Olympics.
Apodaca, who will begin his senior year at NMSU this fall, will be sent to the NBC Sports hub office in Stamford, Conn., as part of the internship. According to NMSU, Apodaca will spend a month working with NBC staff to support online streaming efforts.
“I'm just really excited,” Apodaca said in an article by NMSU. “I grew up watching the big networks, CBS, NBC, ABC. And now, to have the opportunity to work alongside very talented and skilled media professionals is a very big privilege.”
Apodaca is pursuing a journalism degree at NMSU. He’s also the news editor for the NMSU Round-Up and has anchored segments on News22.
According to NMSU, the university is among several universities partnering with NBCU Academy, which provides internship opportunities to students.
