New York Fashion Week makeup artist Cece Meadows started Prados Beauty in New York in 2018. She moved to Las Cruces last summer and held a grand opening for Prados Beauty in Las Cruces, 1323 E. Amador Ave., earlier this month.
“The event was awesome,” Meadows said. “We had an amazing turnout!”
“I am Xicana and indigenous and my beauty brand is 100 percent inclusive and designed for all,” Meadows said. “We use colors, patterns and story of my heritage and culture in our product line. It really has been just breaking the barrier and marginalization of indigenous people in the beauty industry.”
Meadows said she has a nonprofit called the Prados Life Foundation to “bring awareness to social issues, raise money and give back to our communities. We hope to begin building homes on and around reservations in 2022.”
