Oasis Summer Youth Camps Now Enrolling

Children, teens grow self-esteem through expressive arts programs

Posted

Registration is open for two summer expressive arts camps for children and teens at Oasis Coffee and Tea House during the week of June 19-23. Inspired by the recent success of Silver City Community Theatre’s Spring Break Drama Camp, the Oasis Board of Directors unanimously signed off on the innovative proposal for an “Adventures in Wisdom” Camp for ages 7-12, and “Infinite Possibilities” Camp for Teens 12-17.

Led by Oasis’ Creative Director, Wendy Spurgeon, a certified life coach, the camps offer a unique combination of life coaching skills, outdoor time, expressive arts activities, and audio podcast recordings for campers to share with their families.

“’The Adventures in Wisdom Life Coaching Program for Kids’ is a fun, story-based program that gives step-by-step tools for helping kids develop powerful mindset skills to handle the ups and downs of growing up,” Spurgeon said, “to think for themselves and make good decisions; and to go for their dreams and make them happen. It’s perfect for the younger kid’s camp, ages 7-12, and it’s combined with daily expressive arts activities like writing, improv, crafting, and puppet-making led by co-teacher Gail Avignone.

The last day to register is June 12. Registration and information is available at https://wendy.link/wisdomkids for the kid’s camp, and at https://wendy.link/infiniteens for the teen’s camp.
