Organ Mt. boys take first, girls second in Alamogordo

The Organ Mountain High boys track team finished first and the school’s girls team took second at the White Sands-Rolla Buck Invitational March 19 at Alamogordo High School.

First-place boys finishers for Organ Mountain were: James Limon, 200 meters (23.13); Brett Bybee, 1,600 meters (4:42.02) and 3,200 meters (9:57.78); Jonathan Torres, pole vault (13-6); and Nathanyal Chavez, long jump (20-0).

The Knights also took first place in the boys 800 meter relay (1:32.53) and the medley relay (3:49.73).

Other first-place finishers were: Alexander Pineda, Centennial, 400 meters (52.29); Tre Evans, Las Cruces High, shot put (43-11 ½); and Davion Smith, Mayfield, high jump (6-0).

Centennial won the boys 400 meters (44.50).

Girls first-place finishers for Organ Mountain were: Marisa Harrington, 200 meters (27.11); and Shaolin Munir, javelin (128-9, a new school record).

The Knight girls also won the 800 meter relay (1:47.74) and the medley relay (4:39.15).

Centennial’s Agalelei Pili won the discus (118-9) and shot put (37-6 ½).

Alamogordo won the girls team competition.
