Public invited to 2024 swearing-in ceremony

Posted

Successful candidates from the 2024 general election will be sworn in at the Doña Ana County government building on Dec. 30.

The swearing-in ceremony, including recitation of the oaths of office, is one of the final steps for new and returning elected officials in the county after an election that saw historic local turnout.

“The ceremony provides an opportunity for elected officials to take their oath of office and celebrate this significant milestone in the presence of family, friends, and supporters. Third Judicial District Court Judge Conrad Perea and Doña Ana County Clerk Dr. Amanda López Askin will preside over the event,” a news release from the county clerk’s office said.

In addition to in-person options, the ceremony will be livestreamed on the Doña Ana County YouTube channel.

“We look forward to celebrating the dedication and commitment of our newly elected and re-elected officials as they embark on their terms of service to our community,” the news release said.
