Posted

Celebrate Transportation Day at the Las Cruces Railroad Museum (LCRR), 351 N. Mesilla St., 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 6.

The event will include demonstrations, displays and activities related to all kinds of transportation, including trains, planes, bicycles, cars and more, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release. Attendees will get to see everything from adaptive bicycles to Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) SWAT vehicles.

Along with LCPD, participants will include the city Public Works and Solid Waste departments, RoadRUNNER Transit service, New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, Mesilla Valley Model Aircraft Club and Adaptive Cyclers Plus.

Admission to the museum and the event are free.

Transportation Day attendees can make a rubber-band-powered train locomotive and create mini train engines or train car decorations, the city said.

LCRR is accessible via RoadRUNNER Transit Routes 4 and 7, Stop 1.
