Results back now for 14,000 New Mexicans; COVID-positive rate is at 2.9 percent

Daily statistics
According to the Centers of Disease Control, www.cdc.gov, the national confirmed COVID-19 cases increased from 186,101 April 1, to 213,144 April 2. There have been 4,513 deaths.
In New Mexico, confirmed cases rose from 363 April 1 to 403 April 2 (with seven deaths) and 21 cases in Doña Ana County.
In Texas, cases increased from 3,997 April 1 to 4,669 April 2, with 70 deaths. El Paso County has now confirmed 68 cases, up 18 from yesterday. Information from Mexico is more difficult to track, but Ciudad Juarez has confirmed at least seven. Nationwide, Mexico has so far reported 1,378 cases as of April 1, with 29 deaths.
