Richard Earl Burnham, a beloved family man, generous friend, true gentleman, history buff and cowboy at heart passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021.
Rich will be missed by his wife, Judy, children Randy Burnham (Julie), Vicki La Capria (Joe), Kevin Burnham, Darcy Boatright (Keith) and his brother Fran Burnham. Grandchildren who will miss their “Geep” are Lisa Fitzpatrick (Kevin), Nick Michaud (Amy), Evan Michaud (Theresa), Alison Burnham, Kyle Burnham, and Kaitlyn Boatright. His great-grandchildren who will miss out on experiencing his love are John, Katie, and Michael Fitzpatrick, McKenzie and Riley Michaud, and Jake and Avery Michaud. He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, friends and his cherished dog, Hershey. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Pearl Burnham, his in-laws, Ralph and Alice, and his brothers, Ron and Wentworth Burnham.
Rich proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, acquiring computer skills, making life-long friends, and developing an appreciation of desert living. He went on to work for many years as a payroll services executive, making many more lasting friendships along the way. Upon retirement, Rich and Judy moved to Las Cruces, NM.
For many years, Rich enjoyed dancing with Judy, family camping trips, fishing, hunting, and metal detecting. In retirement, he spent many days with friends on the golf course and exploring the desert.
A memorial service will be planned at the convenience of the family.
