The winners of the Univision Foundation’s Selva Negra scholarship program included a Las Cruces student, Azul Toldeo Vega, shown standing far right, who were in Los Angeles the weekend of Dec. 7-8 to meet award-winning band Mana, standing in rear, who announced the scholarship program in September “to benefit Latino students who want to achieve their dream of furthering their education,” according to www.billboard.com. The students, some of whom are DACA recipients, competed among a pool of applicants nationwide for a $10,000 scholarship toward their undergraduate degree.
