Sisbarro hosts Vietnam vets day breakfast March 26

Posted

Sisbarro Buick-GMC invites all Las Cruces area active-duty and retired veterans to enjoy free breakfast burritos and coffee in commemoration of national Vietnam War Veterans Day at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 26 at 425 W. Boutz in Las Cruces.

Catering will be courtesy of Andale’s Restaurant in Mesilla, NM.

“Five years ago a national holiday was created to commemorate the March 29, 1973, departure of the last U.S. troops from South Vietnam,” said Lou Sisbarro president of the Sisbarro Dealerships.  “We are inviting local veterans from all branches of the service to join us to commemorate this special day.”

In 2017, the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act established March 29 of each year as the “National Vietnam War Veterans Day.” Also known as “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day,” the day is set aside to recognize the sacrifices made by veterans and their families during the Vietnam War. It is also designed to honor those men and women who served in that conflict but who did not receive a proper welcome home when they returned to the United States due to the unpopularity of the war.

Founded in 1981, Sisbarro Buick-GMC has served the automotive sales and service needs of southern New Mexico for more than 40 years.  Sisbarro is the only locally owned and locally operated auto dealership group in Las Cruces.
