The Southwest Cannabis Trade Association (SCTA) will host its first Southwest Cannabis Convention 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, April 21, at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E. University Ave.

SCTA welcomes cannabis business owners, cannabis adjacent businesses, the cannabis community and the community at large to the convention, SCTA said in a news release.

Convention tickets are $7 in advance $10 at the door. Students who present a valid school ID at the door will be admitted for $5. Register at www.thesouthwestcannabisconvention.com.

The event will feature locally and nationally known cannabis industry leaders as speakers, along with more than 50 expo booths focused on the cannabis community, the news release said.

Featured speakers include New Mexico Chamber of Cannabis Director Ben Lewinger, New Mexico state Sen. Bill Soules of Las Cruces and New Mexico cannabis advocate Valerie Hubbard. There also will be a cultivation panel and a real-time craft rolling demonstration.

Convention sponsors include SCTA, Visit Las Cruces, The Las Cruces Convention Center, HUB International, Fourtwenty Collections, Bloom Brand and Highcienda Growers. Logistical and other support for the convention is being provided by the City of Las Cruces and the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico, SCTA said.
