Stars with Las Cruces roots highlight 2022 Amador Dayz

Posted

For Frank Ray and Bri Bagwell, Amador Dayz 2022 is a homecoming.

Ray is part of the Thursday, May 5, lineup at Amador Live, while Bagwell performs Friday, May 6.

Another local favorite, Satisfied, with Karlos Saucedo, is also on the May 5 list of performers.

A native of Deming, New Mexico who was raised in Texas and southern New Mexico, Ray was a Las Cruces police officer for 10 years before beginning his career as a full-time country music singer and songwriter. He was featured in People magazine in a story published in January, about a week after Ray’s 32nd birthday. He was featured in a CMT News story last June.

Ray released his first album, “Different Kind of Country,” in 2018. His single, “Country'd Look Good on You,” is currently climbing the charts. “Streetlights,” which Ray co-wrote, was his first single.

Bagwell is a Las Cruces native who began performing locally at age 14, using a keyboard she found in her parents’ garage. They later bought her a used piano at an auction. She also sang in the Mayfield High School Chorus and formed her first band with her brothers Bryan and Brandan, who are twins. Bagwell began a full-time music career more than a decade ago and has hit the big time in Texas as a singer-songwriter.

A native of Las Cruces, Tejano singer Saucedo has been performing since age 6. “Suenos” (Dreams) is the title of his first album, released in 2017.
