Strong showings by Centennial, Organ Mt. at Los Lunas

The Centennial and Organ Mountain high school track and field programs put in strong efforts at the Los Lunas Invitational March 5. 

The Centennial girls finished second in the team competition and Organ Mountain was third. 

In the boys, Organ Mountain took second and Centennial was third. Los Alamos won both the boys and girls competition. 

Local first-place finishers in the girls were: Marisa Harrington, Organ Mountain, 200 meters (28.01); Aveolela Pili, Centennial, discus (124-10) and shot put (36-3 ¼); Lauren Ocampo, Centennial, javelin, (112-5); Centennial in the 1,600 relay; and Las Cruces High in the 800 relay. 

Boys first-place finishers included: James Limon, Organ Mountain, 100 meters (11.45); Organ Mountain in the medley relay; and Andrew Bleimeyer, Mayfield, discus (118-7).
