Taco Tuesday Downtown kicks off as a weekly event in Las Cruces

Posted

LAS CRUCES - Taco Tuesday Downtown, featuring local food trucks, is that latest scene on the Plaza de Las Cruces every Tuesday night.

A group of local trucks, spearheaded by Zeno Muncrief, owner of Fresh Made Food, gathers from 5-8:30 p.m. “to offer their best in taco fare along with live music by local musicians,” said Janet Beatty-Payne, who owns the Green Chile Paddy Wagon along with her husband, Patrick Payne.

“I decided to start this event to bring people downtown and highlight some great local food trucks,” Muncrief said. “The plaza is the perfect place for a consistent event like this. There are so many cool things happening downtown now, so I figured a Taco Tuesday event would really add to the growing downtown vibe.”

Fresh Made Food and the Green Chile Paddy Wagon will regularly participate in Taco Tuesday Downtown, with other trucks rotating into the mix each week.

“I have a great vision that this Taco Tuesday Downtown event will catch on within the community and we can grow it into a full-blown fun night out on the Plaza,” Muncrief said.
