The Las Cruces nonprofit The Association has workshops and other events in April and May to build leadership, entrepreneurship, career advancement and work-life balance, The Association co-founder Sumer Rose-Nolen said.

The Association is a women's professional development and networking group founded in 2020 by Nolen, owner of SRN Financial Services, and Marci Dickerson, who owns The Game, Game II and Dickerson’s Catering. It provides opportunities for women to network, learn and grow their careers and businesses.

“Our commitment is to create a supportive community where women can connect, collaborate and empower each other, Rose-Nolen said. “We believe that by lifting each other up, we can bring about positive change, not just in our individual lives, but in our community as well.”

Alamogordo chapter

On March 16, The Association hosted a women’s mixer in Alamogordo to introduce its the its Alamogordo chapter, Rose-Nolen said. 42 women attended from Alamogordo and surrounding areas. “We were thrilled to meet with all of them and can’t wait to get to know them better,” Dickerson said. “We know word will spread quickly.”

Trisha Roberts, owner of the Trisha Roberts Insurance Agency and a member of the Las Cruces chapter since September 2022, will head the Alamogordo chapter, Rose-Nolen said.

“I have been a member for several months and I know Alamogordo women will benefit from this amazing organization,” Roberts said. “I have gained so much knowledge from the workshops and speakers and created so many new relationships with the women of Las Cruces. I want the women in my town to experience all that I have gained.”
