THE EMPORIUM

The Emporium delays opening

Posted

The Emporium, 106 S. Water St., has delayed its reopening until Thursday, July 23, volunteer Heather Pollard said today.

The store, whose proceeds benefit Mesilla Valley Hospice, had planned to re-open July 9, but that has been delayed by at least two weeks as COVID spikes in New Mexico, Pollard said. The store, like many others in Las Cruces and across the country, closed temporarily in March in accordance with state public health orders.

The Emporium will reopen, hopefully in late July, in accordance with health orders and decisions made by Hospice leadership, Pollard said.

The Emporium is continuing to accept donations, she said. Call 575-523-4700 to arrange to take a donation to The Emporium or to have items picked up. The store’s inventory is made up entirely of donations such as antiques, collectibles and mint-condition furniture, Pollard said.
