Happy Thursday, dear friends,
Today is the day our print edition arrives, and it is a special treat to experience in newsprint what had previously been a design on a computer screen, and talk to our in-house design team about the colors, the clarity and the flow of the contents.
We are an online news source, of course, but we still take pride in putting out a physical newspaper and offering writing, art and design as experienced more richly than clicking on items onscreen.

Our front pager is a story from Leah Romero, a regular contributor to the Bulletin, about community gardens in the city. Inside, Justin Garcia has a breakdown of the new city manager’s budget proposal as well as a discussion about a possible hike in the city’s gross receipts tax. We have two new shows open in town, ambitious productions with local artists and students onstage and behind the scenes. There is a preview of this weekend’s ¡Mira! Las Cruces festival downtown as well. And, of course, much more packed into 32 pages.
