Las Cruces film festival time

Happy Thursday, dear friends,

After going through this week’s Bulletin (available soon as an e-edition at LasCrucesBulletin.com), fresh from the presses, and editing an update on a homicide that occurred yesterday, I need to dash off to one of many events coming up through the weekend in connection to the Las Cruces International Film Festival.

Columnist Walt Rubel recently wrote that the film festival has grown from humble beginnings to “something more permanent, the year-round effort to build a film industry in Las Cruces. And it has grown to become one of our community’s signature events, attracting film buffs and industry executives from throughout the country.”

While the festival has some star power visiting town this week, it really about the film students, emerging film industry professionals and the artistry of independent filmmaking. The Bulletin is happy to be a sponsor for the event.

But that means dusting off the blazer, running a broken comb through my hair and taking in some of the many events going through the weekend. Maybe I’ll see you there, but if not, please do enjoy this week’s issue and remember to check for fresh news at LasCrucesBulletin.com.
