Tresco earns national cleaning standards award

Tresco Inc. has received the “Cleaning industry Management Standard with Honors” certification from ISSA (International Sanitary Supply Association), the world’s leading trade association for the cleaning industry, Tresco said in a news release.

The certification was earned by TrescoWorks, the Tresco Inc. division that creates employment opportunities for persons with varying abilities.

“This certification represents a complete examination of Tresco’s efforts and processes related to our custodial services, said TrescoWorks Assistant Director of Business Development Greg Block. “Our customers and employees will benefit greatly from this review and certification of our processes in safety, procurement, inventory management, supervision, chemical management, equipment and human resources.”

CIMS with Honors is the first consensus-based management standard that outlines the primary characteristics of a successful, quality cleaning organization, Tresco said. It ensures companies follow the proper use of disinfection products and the stringent manufacturer procedures for accurate and effective use.

“Compliance with CIMS with Honors means a cleaning organization has the modern systems in place to deliver professional cleaning services, which is crucial for moving forward post-pandemic in today’s competitive market,” said CIMS Program Manager Nancy Viazzi. “We’re excited to welcome Tresco Inc. to a growing list of certified CIMS companies and look forward to continuing our efforts to help providers meet new demands and instill pride in their work.”

To successfully achieve CIMS certification, a facility service provider must meet 100 percent of the mandatory elements and 60 percent of the recommended elements per section, Tresco said. An ISSA-accredited third-party assessor conducts an on-site review to ensure the organization’s activities are consistent with the documented systems and processes.

Tresco, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017, provides adult employment and support services programs and early intervention and support services for children with disabilities. Tresco has more than 500 employees working with local, state and national government agencies, nonprofits and private businesses in nearly a dozen New Mexico counties.
