The University Avenue and Espina Street intersection will be closed 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13-6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.
The overnight closure will affect southbound traffic on Espina Street. During the closure, a detour will be in place by way of Monte Vista Avenue to direct traffic away from the work zone. Westbound traffic on University Avenue also will be detoured by way of Solano Drive.
The work will affect RoadRUNNER Transit Route 2. Bus stops 9, 10, 49 and 50 on Route 2 will be closed during this time. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained during the closures. Motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
A-Mountain Construction will be working on water line installations as part of the University Avenue Waterline and Mill/Overlay project during the closure.
