Internship program

Doña Ana Community College welcomed 12 local high school students to four of its campuses and centers this summer as part of the Doña Ana County Summer Enrichment Internship Program, DACC said in a news release.

Through the program, funded by the New Mexico Public Education Department, students served as receptionists, organized historical documents, provided office and program support and more for DACC and many other businesses and organizations throughout the county.  DACC interns worked on the East Mesa and Espina Street campuses in Las Cruces and DACC centers in Sunland Park and Chaparral.

SkillsUSA

DACC students Kyros Ervin and Allen Gonzalez were top finishers in the recent SkillsUSA competition, DACC said in a news release.

Ervin and Gonzalez won gold medals at the state competition in April and both finished in the top 10 in their competitions at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skill Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in June.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure a skilled workforce, DACC said. DACC has an active SkillsUSA chapter.
