Posted

The New Mexico Department of Transportation began a roadway rehabilitation project on U.S. Highway 70 on Jan. 23, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.

The $7.2 million project will stretch from U.S. 70 milepost 143, the Interstate 10 and U.S. 70 interchange, to milepost 161 at Organ, N.M.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to take 220 work days to complete, NMDOT said in the news release.

Motorists can expect various daytime lane closures on the NASA and Del Rey Boulevard interchanges for roadway milling and paving, the news release said. Each intersection is expected to take three to four days to complete. The hours of operation for Mountain States Construction, the contractor for the project, will be 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
