The NMSU Community Puppy Raising Club, which raises puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind, received five eight-week-old Labrador Retriever puppies who arrived by air Saturday, Jan. 2 at Las Cruces International Airport. From right, holding the banner are Alan Coleman, Dr. Gaylene Fasenko and Travis Turner. Holding the puppies are Las Cruces High School freshman Conner Turner with Timon, Haley Turner with Violin, Melanie Coleman with Trey, Amber Brack with Triton and Katie Dunlap with Tawny. Fasenko is a professor of companion animals at NMSU and director for the university’s human-animal interaction undergraduate program.
