“Reach The Moon,” by Las Cruces artist Daphne Wirthin, acrylic and ink, painted in 2020. “The butterflies were taken from my own photos,” Wirthin said. “These amazing creatures migrate thousands of miles every year .... how inspiring is that!”

"Happy Place," by Las Cruces artist Bonnie Mandoe. The artwork “is an 18-inch by 22-inch collage, an example of how the co-mingling of ancient art, cut from a magazine and a spontaneous expressionist acrylic painting, combined to make something wonderful,” Mandoe said. “Anyone can make a collage, it's a good project for people who think they can't draw. Las Cruces is home to some incredibly talented artists. What better way to inspire all of us as we cope with the public health emergency than with some of their beautiful art? The Bulletin asked a number of artists for artwork that inspires and we have, to date, received more than a dozen submissions, with, it can be hoped, even more art on the way!
