Posted

The Young at Heart Chorus will present a free concert featuring songs about names and places at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Good Samaritan Auditorium, 3011 Buena Vida Circle, Young at Heart Chair Ray Scroggins said in a news release.

Songs in the one-hour choral program include “Elmer’s Tune,” “Mississippi Mud,” “A Shanty in Old Shanty Town,” “Georgia on My Mind” and many more, Scroggins said. The performance is open to the public without charge.

Young at Heart entertains residents of assisted living and nursing homes in the Las Cruces area and has been in continuous operation since 1972, with the name of the group, the director, piano accompanist and venues changing through the years.
