‘A Coupla White Chicks ...’ opening Aug. 6 at Black Box Theatre

“A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking,” by playwright John Ford Noonan, opens on Friday, Aug. 6, at Black Box Theatre (BBT), 430 N. Main St. downtown.

It is directed by Robert “Bobcat” Young, and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Additional performances are at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, and Friday-Saturday, Aug. 13-14 and 20-21; 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Aug. 15 and 22; and 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19.

Tickets are $15 regular admission, $12 for students and for seniors over age 65 and $10 for the Thursday, Aug. 19, show only.

Masks will be required for all audience members. Vaccinated patrons may select seats in rows A through D. Unvaccinated patrons and those wanting socially distanced seats can use the SD section for socially distanced seating.

The show stars Karen Buerdsell and Gina DeMondo, who worked together in BBT’s 2019 production of “The Mrs. Wheatland Pageant.”

Buerdsell also performed in BBT’s recent production of “The Killing Game,” as well as its streaming productions of “A Light in Winter’s Darkness” and “Shakespeare at Home” in 2020. She also performed recently in Las Cruces Community Theatre’s production of “Glorious, The True Story of Florence Foster Jenkins, the Worst Singer in the World."

DeMondo has been seen at BBT in “Agamemnon,” “Crimes of the Heart,” “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” and “Fallout.”
