Agave hosts Williams

Posted

October Agave Artists Gallery artist of the month is Barbara Williams.

Williams began making functional pottery in 1980, the gallery said in a news release. Her plates, bowls, and mugs are all table safe and can be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.

Williams’ home studio includes an electric wheel and kilns. She makes her own glazes, which are food-safe and lead-free. Her decorative items, crystal pottery, are not food safe.

Williams will do an artist demonstration noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Agave Gallery courtyard, 2250 Calle de San Albino in Mesilla. The event is free and open to the public.

Agave Gallery is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Monday.
