Aggie volleyball: The NM State women’s volleyball team this weekend hosts Western Kentucky in a pair of matches between the top two teams in Conference-USA. The matches are 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, and noon Saturday, Oct. 14, in the Pan American Center.

NM State is 13-6 on the season and 6-2 in Conference-USA play after splitting a pair of matches at Liberty in Virginia last weekend. The Aggies lost the first match 3-1 Oct. 7 and came back the next day to win 3-1. Western Kentucky is 16-4 overall and 6-0 in conference. In fact, the Hilltoppers have not lost a regular-season C-USA match since October 2018, a streak of 64 matches.

After this weekend, the Aggies will be back on the road for matches Oct. 20-21 in Jacksonville, Alabama, to play Jacksonville State.

Aggie women’s soccer: NM State remains in first place in Conference-USA with a 5-0 league record. They’re 8-5-1 overall. The Aggies faced Florida International in a home game scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, after the Bulletin’s press time. NM State’s senior forward Loma McNeese earned C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second straight week. She leads the conference in goals and assists with 13 each.

The Aggies’ next home game is against Sam Houston 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the NM State Soccer Complex. The C-USA conference tournament is Nov. 1-5 in Ruston, Lousiana.
