The Readers of the Purple Sage Book Club will host author Tom Zoellner on a zoom presentation at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 30, the club said in a news release.

The event is free and open to the public.

Zoellner will talk about his books and take questions from the audience with emphasis on his book, “The National Road – Dispatches from a Changing America,” published in 2020, the book club said. In the book, Zoellner “takes to the highways and byways of a vast land in search of the soul of its people,” according to tomzoellner.com.

Zoellner is the New York Times bestselling author of nine nonfiction books, including “Uranium Train” and “The Heartless Stone.” His most recent book, published in February 2023 is “Rim to River,” the story of walking across Arizona on a 46-day solo hike.

Zoellner teaches at Chapman University in Orange, California, and at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. A former reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle, he is editor at large for the Los Angeles Review of Books literary review magazine.
