Borderlands Ballet presents ‘One Enchanted Evening’ and ‘Cinderella’ in May

Borderlands Ballet Company (BBC) of Las Cruces has two productions in May.

“One Enchanted Evening” is at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 21, on the Gandy Stage at the Las Cruces School of Dance and Music (LCSDM), 1390 N. Main St. Tickets are $10. The program includes an evening of dance and music by LCSDM students. “One Enchanted Evening” is the school’s jazz, tap, hip-hop and music recital.

BBC’s “Cinderella: The Ballet” will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 27-28, at the ASNMSU Center for the Arts, 1000 E. University Ave. Tickets are $25. It is a 90-minute show.

The principal cast for “Cinderella” includes these BBC artists: Rachel Breck at Cinderella; Daniel Lindsay at Stepsister 1; John Pohl as Stepsister 2; Lana Pillsbury as the Evil Stepmother; Janelle Hernandez as the Fairy Godmother; and as the four fairies: Spring, Ryleigh Wellborn and Summer, Olivia Leon, both BBC artists; along with LCSDM dancers Brooke Gonzales and Mia Berkson.

BBC is conducting a fundraising campaign, with a goal of raising $5,100 by May 26. You can also become a BBC member and/or sponsor, with donation levels ranging from $100 to $5,000 or more. Visit www.borderlands-ballet.com/support to donate.
