Branigan Library offers free computer literacy classes in October

Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave., offers a variety of free computer literacy classes designed to help adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today's digital world.

Each session is an independent class. There is no registration, however, space is limited.

The first 10 attendees are guaranteed a computer. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops if space permits. Classes are in the Computer Training classroom on the second floor of Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.

Cell Phone Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2022.
Did you know your cell phone can do more than make phone calls? Do your family and friends ask you to send them text messages, but you do not know how? Join us as we uncover some of the tools your phone has. Students should bring their Android or iPhone to class for a hands-on experience.

Basic Computer Skills – 2 p.m.to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022.
Are you uncomfortable using a computer? Do you want to understand how to use it without the fear of doing something to break it? This class will discuss what computers are and some ways to properly use them in your daily lives.

Windows 11 Basics – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022.
This class will teach students how to navigate the most recent operating system. Topics that will be covered is the new Start Menu layout, what the taskbar is and how to customize Windows 11.

Manage Your Digital Pictures – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022
This class is a basic class where students will learn how to manage their digital files. Students will learn how to upload photos from a smart phone to a computer either directly or through the cloud. Once on the computer, students will earn how to organize files on the computer.
