Las Cruces artist Mary Diesel will host “unCLASSIFIED: removing artificial boundaries and labels,” a three-day, multi-media fall art exhibit.
The exhibit is open 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15; and noon-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, with a reception at 2 p.m.; at Camelot Studio 2008 Camelot Drive in Las Cruces.
There is no charge to attend.
Participating artists from Las Cruces and the Las Cruces area, in addition to Diesel (ceramics, abstracts), are Jody Brimhall, encaustics, glass work; Laurie Churchill, mark making; Sue Davis, paintings and drawings, various media; Steve Klinger, paintings; Dennis Lujan: watercolor; Dori McKay, multi-media paintings; Beth Morgan, jewelry; Kathie Redmond, pastel and marker; Laurel Weathersbee, watercolor collage; Victor Whitmill, pencil drawing; and Nana Zhorzholiani, jewelry.
Participating artists from other parts of New Mexico and Texas are Franky DeAngelis of Silver City, paintings; Julia Masaoka of Truth or Consequences, assemblage, mixed media; and Lauren Stedman, linocut prints with letterpress and watercolor and Molly Dumas, tin can retablos, watercolors, both from
"I love turning my home studio into a weekend gallery, especially when I can display art that often isn't seen in other venues, by artists that have a fresh eye and who aren't so concerned with traditional formats," Diesel said.
The exhibit is also available for viewing by appointment throughout the week following the exhibit, she said.
