Las Cruces Farmers Insurance agent Patrick Gavin will host the first annual Christmas for a Cause 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 S. Main St. downtown, according to a Farmers Insurance news release.
The Salvation Army, which is partnering with Gavin on the event, will be accepting coats, Christmas gifts and non-perishable food items as donations during the event.
The fundraiser “aims to help those in need in the Las Cruces community this holiday season,” the news release said.
The event will also feature music, food trucks, local vendors and a visit from Santa Claus for family photos. DJ Rob-E will be mixing live, and performers will include Folklorico dancers, Mesilla and Sonoma elementary school cheerleaders and the Centennial High School drumline.
“My goal is to bring the Las Cruces community together for a greater cause,” Gavin said. “This holiday season, it seems especially important to help out; it’s been a rough few years for everyone.”
