Thousands watched as local artists competed in the inaugural “Chalk the Plaza” sidewalk art competition on Saturday, April 29, as part of the ¡Mira! Las Cruces spring festival, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.
The City Art Board announced People’s Choice winner Brigette Kearns and Best of Show winner artist team Rose LeDuc and Joseph Trujillo, the news release said. The public voted for people’s choice by placing a ticket in their favorite artist’s bucket.
Best of show was selected by Art Board members based on the theme of the competition, “¡Mira! Las Cruces Arts & Culture.”
