City opens garden plots

If you have ever wanted to grow your own vegetables and flowers, here is your opportunity.

The City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department opened leases for available community garden plots to the public Feb. 1, the city said in a news release.

The cost to lease a garden plot from Feb. 1-Dec. 31, is $15, the city said.

Plots are available to lease at these community gardens: Las Esperanza, 341 E. Picacho Ave.; Sage, 6121 Reynolds Drive.; and Tony Gomez, 2250 S. Espina St.

Resident may sign-up and pay for their plot lease and acknowledge the community garden rules and regulations at the Parks and Rec administration office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave., Building B.

There are a limited number of plots available and only one plot can be leased per person. Call the city to conform availability at 575-541-2550.
