City water restrictions now in place

Posted

City of Las Cruces spring/summer outdoor watering restrictions begin April 1 in the city.

The annual restrictions prohibit the watering of outside vegetation 10 a.m.-6 p.m. every day, the city said in a news release.

The watering schedule allows city residents with even-numbered addresses to water outside vegetation every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Residents with odd-numbered addresses are allowed to water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. No watering is allowed on Mondays.

The Las Cruces Utilities Water Conservation Program has a 24-hour recorded voicemail hotline at 575-528-4444 to report water waste that includes watering on the wrong day or time, water leaving the property or ponding on the property, and not using a bucket and shut-off nozzle to wash vehicles or pavement. Callers should include the day and time of their call and the address of the alleged violation.
