Community college accepting donations for dogs and cats

Doña Ana Community College (DACC) is one of several drop-off locations throughout Las Cruces accepting donations to the Santa Paws Drive to help local dogs and cats.

A radio live broadcast for the drive is scheduled for 2-4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22., at DACC’s East Mesa campus, 2800 Sonoma Ranch Blvd. The broadcast will be conducted by 101 Gold (101.1 FM) and Magic 104 (104.9 FM).

Drop boxes for donated items will be located at DACC’s main building on the East Mesa campus all day Thursday, Dec. 22. Donations will also be accepted at Bravo Mic Communications, 101 Perkins Drive,  8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday throughout the month of December.

The fund drive is sponsored by Nusenda Credit Union.

Donations received will be distributed to Animal Services of the Mesilla Valley and ACTion Programs for Animals.

Items needed are used, but clean towels and blankets; dog food; cat food; leashes and collars of all sizes; dog and cat toys.
