Community college culinary arts students hosting bi-weekly dinners with international menus

Posted

Doña Ana Community College culinary arts students are serving up international dinners twice a week and the public is invited to join, DACC said in a news release.

Dinners are prepared by students in Chef Instructor G. Thomas Drake’s international cuisine class and are offered 4-5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday through March 7 at the DACC East Mesa campus, 2800 Sonoma Ranch Blvd.

Dinners will feature international dishes and include an entrée with sides, a drink and dessert for $10 (cash or check only). This is a pick-up service with no dine-in, DACC said.

Menus will include smoked salmon tartlet and apple cake from Ireland, Egyptian lamb tagina with kunafa, Cubano with arroz con leche, frikadeller and dommekage from Denmark and more.

There are also vegetarian choices available.

The DACC culinary arts program trains students in state-of-the-art laboratories as chefs, pastry chefs, cooks and bakers, the news release said. Professional chefs, certified with the American Culinary Federation, teach and train students for careers in the food service and hospitality fields.
